FGHW Equity Partner and former Statutory Probate Judge Chris Wilmoth is the newly appointed Vice Chair of the State Bar of Texas Pattern Jury Charges - Family and Probate Committee. This is the second time Chris has received this appointment.
Texas Pattern Jury Charges Committees are dedicated to drafting questions, instructions, and definitions for judges to give to juries prior to deliberation. They are “widely accepted by attorneys and judges as the most authoritative guide in a broad variety of cases.” The Family and Probate Committee, created in 1987, monitors case law and legislation and revises Pattern Jury Charges to reflect current legal developments. The publication of Pattern Jury Charges further assists attorneys by including additional commentary and caveats relevant to each charge.
“Through his experience as a practicing attorney in Texas in the areas of probate and trust litigation, and his four years of service as a statutory probate judge in Dallas County, Chris Wilmoth has a wealth of knowledge and firsthand experience with a wide variety of probate issues. Chris is perfectly suited for the position of Vice Chair of the Texas Pattern Jury Charges Committee for Probate and Family Law because he can speak into the optimal presentation of questions and instructions to a jury from the viewpoints of both the bench and the bar,” says FGHW Partner Jessica Dunne.
Former Judge Wilmoth’s experience in this area as both a probate judge and practitioner will certainly benefit the Committee as well as Texans involved in Probate and Family Law litigation. To learn more about Chris’s practice, please visit www.fghwlaw.com/chris-wilmoth.
