Stephanie specializes in labor and employment law.  With over twenty-five years of experience, she advises businesses of all sizes, from startups to Fortune 100 corporations, on all aspects of employment law compliance and litigation.

 

Stephanie earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Southern Methodist University School of Law.  In 2013, she became Board Certified in Labor and Employment Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a significant achievement accomplished by only about 7% of practicing attorneys.  Her expertise encompasses a wide range of employment matters, such as developing policies, conducting internal investigations, managing employee disputes, and defending against employment-related claims.

 

Throughout her career, Stephanie has represented both public and private companies across diverse industries, including aeronautics, automotive, energy, entertainment, financial services, healthcare, hospitality, logistics, manufacturing, media, professional services, staffing, retail, sports, technology, and transportation.  Past and present clients also include municipalities and political subdivisions, non-profit corporations, and high net worth individuals.

 

In addition to her legal practice, Stephanie has held leadership positions in various professional organizations. She served as President of the Dallas Women Lawyers Association in 2018 and as a Director of the Dallas Bar Association from 2017 to 2018.

 

Stephanie is admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court, the Fifth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals, all U.S. District Courts in Texas, and all Texas state courts.  She also partners with attorneys in other jurisdictions throughout the United States and internationally when client needs arise.

 

Her professional affiliations include the Dallas Women Lawyers Association, the Dallas Bar Association, and Attorneys Serving the Community.

 

Stephanie has been included in D Magazine’s Best Lawyers in Dallas and has been selected to the Best Lawyers in America list for employment and labor law since 2017.

Representative Experience

  • Defend regional dockets of employment-related claims, administrative charges, arbitrations, and lawsuits for Fortune 500 global industry leaders.

  • Provide outside counsel for private and publicly traded corporations with respect to workforce management and employee disputes, investigations, complaints, administrative charges, and state and federal lawsuits and appeals.
  • Develop and conduct training programs for executive management and human resources professionals.

  • Support small business and early-stage scaling companies, serving as employment practices advisor and counsel to executives and HR teams.

  • Monitor and advise on federal and state employment law-related legislation and regulations, including issues related to employee classifications and minimum wage compliance, leave requests, pregnancy, disability, and religious accommodations, employee mobility and non-compete agreements, sexual harassment, equal pay, workforce reductions, and employee privacy.​
